How to Clean CDs

http://live.pirillo.com/ - How many times have you gone to listen to your CD or watch a DVD and you find out that the player couldn't read the disk? You may have a dirty disk or a scratch on it.

To clean you disk gently wipe with a clean terrycloth towel from the inside ring out - you never want to wipe in circles, as that can create bad scratches which cause the disk to become unreadable.

Another tip is to use a dab of vegetable oil, let it dry over a few minutes, and wipe the oil off (in a straight line from the inside run to the outside).

Unfortunately, if that does not work, you may have a warped disk or are suffering from bit rot, in which case the only solution is to get a new disk.

What about you? What do you do to clean your disks?
