Lightweight Laptop Prices

http://live.pirillo.com/ - Why do lightweight or ultra-portable laptops usually cost more than larger laptops?

A few things probably go into the higher cost of a lightweight laptop:

  • The cost to produce the lightweight components needed generally cost more (the smaller the component becomes, the more it can cost)
  • Engineering the components together in such a way that a bulky cooling system isn't necessary to keep the system cool costs more money.
  • People are willing to pay more for the convenience. Some people are really particular and are willing to pay a lot more for a lighter laptop or a different color.

What do you think?
