How to Boot Windows Faster

http://live.pirillo.com/ - Modern operating system - especially Windows Vista - can take a rather long time to start up and shut down. What could you do to speed up these processes?

SpeedyVista is a utility that will allow you to end services in Windows Vista, which will let you shave off a couple of seconds off your setup time.

Beyond what services you could shut down, you could also try disabling some programs from running on startup (using the msconfig utility).

For now, until new technologies make their way into operating systems, the startup and shutdown times are going to remain longer than they should be.

Do you have any recommendations for speeding up your startup and shutdown time?
